Sailing is about going somewhere and one fantastic option to go further is to travel over two days.
We set sail from Fell Foot at the south end of Winderemere and sail off toward the mountains, stopping for lunch (and pees) near bowness before contiuning onto the North end of the Lake.
The YHA is right on the waterside has a low jetty for access to the boat and a warm comfortable and accessible room with wet room ensuite.
The next day following a cooked brakfast, we set sail again homeward bound. One of the days will be against the wind, and sometimes its both, so sailing back will likely be a very different challenge to getting there.
A fantastic accessible way to explore the whole lake in the most traditional of Windermere Ways (unless you ask the steam boat club).
